I thought you may like to know how all the “fun” threads started off. So, if you are sitting comfortably, I’ll begin!

A few years ago, when we were all having HUGE problems obtaining DLA (OK so it hasn’t changed much) we decided to investigate the “the mystery of the great secret of DLA”.

Naturally, we started our search in Blackpool, where the main DLA offices were at that time. In the ensuing mayhem, those of us with scooters or wheelchairs managed to get caught up on the Big One. Lyn opened a chain of fortune telling booths along the prom throwing in a free hair cut for all who crossed her palm with silver. We liberated a donkey (Neddy) who we found tied up under the pier and (my memory is hazy here, so forgive me if I am wrong) and Dor rescued an old tea trolley from flotsam and jetsam on the beach. Eleanor pinched Julie’s budgie seed and made it into delicious cakes. There was an awful lot of booze flying around, as well! Gordon Brown (or Old Slack Gob) got of wind of what we were up to and chased us across land and sea (some of it in The Tardis) and we ended up in the desert at a wonderful oasis which was really a mirage!! There were pages and pages of it, but NRAS in there wisdom cut the link to the old forum so you can no longer access it.

We than had trips to London to Peter Stringfellows, ending up in the News of the World not to mention the police cells; We purchased the Arc Royal when she was decommissioned for a mere £32.86p.

Our latest adventure was to the Royal wedding and hopefully, we will be starting our preparations for the Diamond Jubilee very soon.

We also made a startling discovery. Jenni, who is no longer able to walk too well, found she had a wonderful talent for shimmying to the left on a skateboard. This meant we always had to make sure she was pointing in the proper direction to do this!

Kathleen acquired a snake at some point, Julie knitted Sheila a parrot (Captain Flint). We also acquired a wheeled commode which was most useful on longer journeys!

Sheila decided to take up cannon firing but as Lyn (who can’t count) was her counter, that was not a huge success and she ended up blowing some large and embarrassing holes in some very dodgy places.

Lyn finally had to be restrained in her hair cutting, especially when she graduated to the chain saw. We were all afraid for our lives, let alone our bits!

Thank you for that most enlightening explanation, putting the pieces of jigsaw together for me. I had managed to work out most of the pieces from reading the entire "Pantomime"/"Royal Wedding" threads all day Monday (hence no housework done) and because I found all your posts so amusing I couldn't help but ask to join in. I love your use of cartoon pictorials. Where do you find them? How do you do that? I can't even create an avatar (dumb).

However, I'm delighted to know that I can come aboard the Ark Royal with my bow and arrows and promise to practice hard for the big occasion.

In the meantime, carry on girls your sense of fun does you credit and cheers me up no end.

Well my favourite tipple is vodka or red wine...or white wine...or both, but as we are a-sailing I think we should also have some rum on board (purely for first aid possibilities) as there's bound to be more than one accident!

Perhaps we could haul on Doreen's "thingamebob" and use it as a lock-up but who can we trust with the key?

Doreen...tried the download as you kindly suggested but my firewall has gone into overdrive with warnings. Is it a safe site? Shall I over ride said firewall's advice?

Me!!! in charge of the booze Well as I don't drink at all, it would probably be best. Be prepared ladies, I have the keys to the booze cupboard (yes keys) about my person as we speak. So don't try any funny business. I am just setting up the bar for Jenni's 'bash' so let me know what your tipple is and I will have the 'thimbles' (no more than that with mxt )ready on arrival. I hope Eleanor doesn't forget to bring the cake (along with the alkaseltzer ) Get your glad rags on ladies. We can make it a dummy run for the jubilee celebrations. I'm sure Jenni won't mind sharing with HM. See you there

I've spruced up the tea trolley and there is a space for Eleanor's cake (hope she gets it made in time).
Kathleen will get the band. Get the wheeled commode tarted up Jean, it will be in demand !
Not sure about Sheila holding the keys to the booze cupboard, she's probably drained it dry already but never mind I have a good supply on the trolley.

Planning out my route as I type, Kathleen. Can I take snake with me? He was looking quite peaky last time I saw him and could do with some fresh air. Capt. Flint will ride on Neddy and I'll be in the wheeled commode. Make sure Doreen and the tea trolley are somewhere along the route so that I can have a bite and a sup! I'd also appreciate a 21 gun salute to alert everyone to my coming.
